In case you haven’t heard, it’s Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee. She and other members of the royal family have been out and about with the people making appearances at a variety of charities, public events, etc. When John and Frances (an engaged couple in Manchester) heard the Queen was going to be in Manchester at the same time as their wedding, they thought they would send her an invite, not expecting the Queen would actually show. So, how cool is it that Queen Elizabeth, along with Prince Phillip, popped in on their wedding?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past year, you’ve likely heard that brides everywhere are flocking to bridal stores looking for classic, sleeved bridal gowns to mimic the Sandra Burton for Alexander McQueen (RIP) gown that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her wedding day. The wedding fashion world began working on copies of the Duchess’ gown the second she stepped out of the car that ushered her in to royalty.
Now, rather than bore you with the umpteenth collection of copies and look alike gowns, I thought I would explore the sleeve trend in bridal from all sides. Designers presented a variety of sleeved gowns at Fall Bridal Market. From cap sleeves to full-length sleeves, the Duchess sparked a trend that is leading the bridal fashion world away from the nearly endless strapless options and providing us with a variety of sleeve lengths for those who want to show a little or a lot.
