We would like to congratulate AMG client Jennie Lakip for signing with the defending champions of the Costa Rican first division, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense!
Jennie is joining LDA after spending last season with Dimas Escazú, where she scored 14 goals in 15 games and was crowned the league’s leading goal scorer. Jennie’s stellar season attracted much attention from teams abroad. However, she ultimately decided to turn down offers in Europe and the United States in favor of continuing her career in Costa Rica.
“I have thoroughly loved my time in Costa Rica. I was having a hard time with the idea of leaving so I’m thrilled to be able to stay longer and continue learning and growing as a player in such a wonderful place.” – (Jennie Lakip)
Staying in Costa Rica and not playing for Dimas Escazú was a very difficult decision Jennie had to make. The entire Dimas squad greeted her with open arms since the very beginning and her time with the club helped her develop in many ways, on and off the field. A special thank you to Dimas Head Coach, Geovanni Vargas, for serving a huge role in Jennie’s development. He is doing a tremendous job guiding the club and improving the entire soccer landscape within the City of Escazú.

Jennie se une a la LDA después de pasar la temporada pasada con Dimas Escazú, donde anotó 14 goles en 15 partidos y se coronó como la máxima anotadora de la competición. La temporada de Jennie atrajo mucha atención de equipos en el extranjero, sin embargo, decidió rechazar ofertas en Europa y Estados Unidos en busca de seguir su carrera en Costa Rica.
“He amado mucho mi estancia en Costa Rica. Estaba pasando por un momento difícil con la idea de irme, así que estoy encantada de poder quedarme más tiempo para seguir aprendiendo y creciendo como jugadora en un lugar tan maravilloso.” – (Jennie Lakip)
Quedarse en Costa Rica y no jugar para Dimas Escazú fue una decisión muy difícil que Jennie tuvo que tomar. Todo el equipo de Dimas la recibió con los brazos abiertos desde el principio y su paso por el club la ayudó a desarrollarse de muchas maneras, dentro y fuera del terreno de juego. Un agradecimiento especial al entrenador en jefe de Dimas, Geovanni Vargas, por desempeñar un papel importante en el desarrollo de Jennie. Está haciendo un gran trabajo guiando al club y mejorando todo el panorama del fútbol dentro de la Ciudad de Escazú.
