Watch: Aretha Franklin performs four-minute national anthem

The Queen of Soul dazzled on Thursday.

If you took the over on the length of the national anthem before Thanksgiving’s first NFL game, you won in commanding fashion.

74-year-old Aretha Franklin, the “Queen of Soul,” sat down in front of a piano and microphone in Detroit before the Lions hosted the Vikings to begin the holiday to sing the anthem, and absolutely killed it. It was a bit on the long side—lasting around four-and-a-half minutes—but it was a memorable rendition.

Take a look at the anthem below.

The average time of the anthem at the Super Bowl these days is around two minutes, so this was quite, quite long.
