Registration open: AMUG Conference 2017

AMUG (The Additive Manufacturers Group) has been in existence since the early 1990s when it started life specialising in the enhancement of stereolithography (SLA). With the spread of technologies encompassed by the umbrella term of 3D printing, it was only natural that the group then branched out to provide support for all users interested in all areas of additive manufacturing. Providing training, networking and education to the 3D printing community, AMUG are preparing for their 29th annual conference which will take place in Chicago next year, 19-23 March 2017.

This year’s conference, which took place in St. Louis from 3-7 April, was held in the St. Louis Union Station Hotel, and counted Dr. Lonnie Love of Oak Ridge National Laboratory amongst its guest speakers.

Next years plans for the event at the Hilton venue makes AMUG 2017 the group’s biggest conference to date. There are 1,544 guest rooms available, and Carl Deckard, the inventor of Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), will be the conference’s special guest speaker – just one of a broad range of events promised by the organizers. Registering in advance will save attendees money, with a current all-inclusive package costing $795.

Our agenda will keep attendees very busy, but we will provide ample time for networking. Year after year, we hear that the networking component of the AMUG Conference is what makes our event unique. And that leads many attendees to comment that it is the best conference that they have ever attended.

Said AMUG president, Steve Deak.

The AMUG president went on to say that he particularly enjoy(s) the dialog between long-time members and the fresh ideas of our new members, which move the technologies forward, which is just the sentiment we’re looking forward to 3DPI. He added;

The AMUG Conference attracts a broad cross-section of expertise from across the additive manufacturing space. This results in an unmatched energy between members at the conference and unprecedented sharing of ideas that challenges the additive manufacturing industry to improve.
