The Social Security Administration has announced the most popular baby names in Louisiana for 2017.

The top five names for boys were Liam, Noah, Mason, Elijah and William.

The top five names for girls were Olivia, Ava, Emma, Amelia and Harper.

Liam and Emma were the most popular baby names in the United States last year.

The agency began compiling the baby name list in 1997, with names dating back to 1880.
