PD’s Hot Shop in Vancouver is the keeper of the Skull Skates mythology and provider of the original skateboarding essence in Canada since 1976 . Of the almost three and a half decades gripping, building, designing, guiding and providing, nearly half of that time has been spent at 2868 w 4th avenue in the heart of Kitsilano on Vancouver’s west side.
As all things born must die so too has the Hot Shop on fourth run it’s course. With thanks to the support of many varied friends and allies, the Hot Shop has thrived as a community hub for avid skateboarders, longboarders, skimboarders, cyclists and everyday people at 4th and Macdonald since 1993. [ New location now open at 3734 w 10th at Alma st ]
In recognition of the passing of this chapter, Skull skates and PD’s Hot Shop are presenting a grand closing party Saturday January 21st, 2012 from 7pm until midnight at 2868 w 4th avenue in Vancouver.
