 The ICRC Regional Delegation in Jakarta is seeking to fill the following positions:

Accountant

(Resident position, Jakarta-based)

Role Purposes:

The Accountant will perform financial data collection, data verifying and data recording in the accounting system as well as reconciling and analysing the accounting records and financial reports of the ICRC’s Regional Delegation in Jakarta.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting duties

  • Collect and analyse financial data and information.
  • Verify payment or cash request and expenditure reports.
  • Ensure financial documents comply with the Finance & Administration Manual and Rules on Financial Management.
  • Conduct the accounting entries in the accounting system.
  • Maintain the updated supplier register in accounting system.
  • Execute the monthly and annual closing reports according to Finance & Administration Manual and monthly reconciliation.
  • Prepare or organize the financial documents.
  • Maintain payable accounts, accrual data and files, working advance or salary advance status and reconciliation.

Bank and treasury management

  • Prepare the weekly/monthly fund requests after consolidating the financial needs of the departments.
  • Prepare the orders and executes bank transfers/payments (inclusive of monthly payroll).
  • Establish the bank reconciliation.
  • Monitor the exchange rate fluctuation.

Other responsibilities

  • Prepare and record the VAT exemption applications for the Delegation.
  • Provide financial support to partners – review the accounting report and advise their accounting department to ensure the data aligns with the expected standards.
  • Participate in the construction of yearly budget by gathering and analysing accounting data.
  • Prepare or involve in working on the response on preclosing, closing or post-closing comments.
  • Prepare or involve in working on balance confirmation.
  • Supervise the daily cash count.
  • Involve in working on Time Reporting.

Team management

  • Supervise other finance/accountant and provide guidance and coaching on technical matters.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a must (or any equivalent certificate in accounting).
  • Working experience as accountant for more than 5 years in International NGO is an asset.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Overall, 6-9 years’ professional experience in finance
  • Excellent computer literacy, especially in Excel.
  • Have experiences of using accounting systems.
