Taking to the social media site this week (11 October 2017), the mum-of-two shared a selfie of herself with 13-year-old Apple.
She captioned the photo:
‘Everything I do in my life I do for this girl (and her brother).’
Gwyneth also used the hashtag #internationaldayofthegirl
According to the UN, the day aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face today.
It’s also a day to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.
‘It’s really inspiring to see’
Gwyneth previously spoke about her daughter in last year’s November issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
She talked about how Apple had grown into her own person and become an amazing young woman:
‘I actually don’t need to encourage her to take risks.
‘She likes to push herself; she wants to see how far she can get.
‘It’s really inspiring to see that in a young woman.’
Gwyneth is also mum to 11-year-old Moses from her past marriage with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.
