ST. PETERSBURG | Empath Partners in Care (EPIC) welcomed supporters to the grand opening of its new sexual health center July 23, the organization’s freestanding facility specializing in sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment.

Located at 300 49th St. S. in St. Petersburg, the center also offers pregnancy testing and referrals, birth control and prophylactics, and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP). As a member of Empath Health, it will allow the organization to serve an estimated 10,000 clients per year.

The ceremony welcomed supporters from throughout Tampa Bay. Speakers included Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber President Justice Gennari, Florida’s recently appointed LGBTQ Consumer Advocate Nathan Bruemmer, St. Petersburg LGBTQ Liaison Jim Nixon, Empath Health President Rafael Sciullo, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce President Chris Steinocher and U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist.

Each expressed their excitement for the new project while encouraging attendees to support its endeavors, which you can read more about here. Watermark was on hand to help celebrate the EPIC new space and you can view our photos below.
