Why I Love Benjamin Moore's River Blue Paint Color

"Applied in a fuller sheen, it takes on a different personality," notes interior designer Charlotte Lucas

Benjamin Moore's River Blue is a complex shade of deep blue with hints of green and black that give it a soulful quality. Applied in a fuller sheen, it takes on a different personality and appears more blue than green. I used this color with 60 percent sheen in a bar area full of natural light. By day, its electric blue tones shines and by night, it becomes more mysterious and rich. I love using this blue on cabinetry or in small spaces covering everything . . . walls, trim, and ceiling!

I like to pair bold wallpapers with bold paint colors. In my opinion, this room would have fallen flat if there was not a daring color selection to complement the graphic Kelly Wearstler Channels wallpaper. I also think a leafy jungle wallpaper (think Cole & Sons' Ardmore collection) could have worked well here. Bars aren't meant to be boring!
