Last year, James Blake revealed that his follow-up to 2013's Overgrown would be called Radio Silence. Ten months later, he shared its first track, "Modern Soul," during his BBC Radio 1 residency. Today, Blake showed up for a surprise appearance on the residency, sharing a new song called "Timeless" and revealing that the album is complete. He jokes that he's in Los Angeles because it's raining in England, and says, "I was here finishing off a few things. I did this thing I'm gonna put out at some point."

He continues, "I said it a couple of months ago that I think it's time to start recording an album because–you know–there've been requests. People have been asking if I'm going to record a record, so I did one." Blake offers, "It turned out great–quite long, but I'm really happy with it." and, "It's 18 tracks long. Yeah, one of the tracks is 20 minutes long, as well." His co-host says, "I think it's 24," to which he responds, "Yeah, for real."

Listen to "Timeless" below.

It's currently unclear whether or not the album features the previously hinted contributions from Kanye West and Justin Vernon. In 2014, he released the 200 Press EP.
