When Marvel announced their massive Phase Three line-up in 2014, the last movie slated for release was Inhumans, which was given a July 12, 2019 date, just a few months after Avengers: Infinity War Part II hits theaters on May 3, 2019. Since then, the studio hasn't announced a director, screenwriter or any cast members for the project. Earlier this month, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased that the movie is moving to a later date. Today that has been confirmed, as the studio has yanked Inhumans from its July 12, 2019 date. They haven't issued a new release date for the project yet, delaying it indefinitely.

Box Office Mojo's status for Inhumans is currently listed as TBA, but it will most likely debut at some point during Marvel Phase Four. The studio has already set release dates for Phase Four movies on May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020, so it's possible that Inhumans could take one of those dates. Here's what Kevin Feige had to say in his interview last week, when asked about the possibility of Inhumans getting delayed.

"Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it's on right now. How far down it shuffles, I'm not sure yet."

Inhumans debuted within the pages of Marvel comic books back in 1965. The main story followed a royal family of super beings ruled over by their silent king Black Bolt, whose voice can level cities. It has long been rumored that Vin Diesel will play this mute character in the flesh, while he voices Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. The young members of the Inhumans family get their power from ingesting Terrigen Mists, an idea that has been introduced and developed in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg teased in January that he doesn't think his show's Inhumans story line will crossover with the Inhumans movie. Still, the show would have to make it to Season 7 for any sort of viable crossover to make sense, since the Inhumans movie was originally set to debut between Season 6 and Season 7, and now it will debut even later. Still, a lot can happen between now and Phase Four, so stay tuned for the latest developments.
