There are a number of reasons people hate Windows 10. I was excited to use it and there was a lot that I liked but in the end, I returned to windows 7. Updates are forced. Windows 10, complained when I isolated a machine from the internet and it couldn't connect to Microsoft's servers. I don't like the thought that Microsoft can remote uninstall software. This leaves me with two worries. I once bought a Kindle book that the publisher put out and then for some reason had pulled. Even though Kindle said they would never do so, the book was pulled from my device. I don't want Microsoft to have that power. The other is that if Microsoft can do it, eventually a hacker will be able to do it too. The same argument can be made for forced updates. I don't like ads. If I am using a free service, I am willing to see ads so the company can generate revenue. If I pay $200 for an operating system, especially one with no customer support, they don't need to be putting advertising on my computer. If you need MORE revenue, sell support like those who offer free operating systems. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why I do not like this new incarnation of Windows, despite my initial excitement.
