Registered full-time employment in November increased by 4.4 per cent when compared to the same month last year, while registered part-time employment as a primary job rose by 4.2 per cent, the National Statistics Office said.
The NSO said that, according to administrative data provided by the ETC, the labour supply (excluding part-timers) over a period of one year increased by 3.2 per cent, reaching 178,381.
This was mainly attributed to an increase in the full-time gainfully occupied population (7,245) and a drop in registered unemployment (1,741).
Administrative and support service activities contributed mostly to the increase in employment, compared to the same month a year earlier. Registered fulltime employment in the private sector went up by 7,214 persons to 129,088.
Public sector full-time employment increased by 31 to 44,533.
The number of persons registered as full-time self-employed rose by 654 when compared to November, while the number of persons registered as employees increased by 6,591.
Full-time employment for males and females went up by 3.2 per cent and 6.4 per cent respectively over 2014 levels.
Registered part-time employment in November went up by 5.5 per cent when compared to a year earlier.
The number of part-timers who also held a full-time job amounted to 24,374, up by 7.4 per cent when compared to the corresponding month in 2014. Employed persons whose part-time job was their primary occupation totalled 34,850, up by 4.2 per cent or 1,404 persons.
