Forgotten Boardwalk's Lady #8 is the brewery's signature beer, What the Butler Saw, brewed with watermelon, basil and spiced with Dragon cayenne, jalapeno and habanero peppers.

The need for organ donors is at the heart of an event on Sunday, Jan. 28, at Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing in Cherry Hill.

The annual fundraiser calls attention to the need for and benefits of organ donation.

The Spice of Life began in 2014 to commemorate the anniversary of Forgotten Boardwalk's Seth Dolled’s successful kidney donation to his mother Sharon.

A portion of the proceeds of Spice of Life will be donated to The Living Kidney Donor Network and The National Kidney Foundation, as well as The Gift of Life Donor Program, representatives of which will be available to register as an organ donor  at the event.

The National Kidney Foundation of Delaware Valley also will be available to offer information about kidney donation and kidney disease prevention.

For the first time, the event will include a health and wellness area with representatives from South Jersey Health & Wellness from Cherry Hill offering free chair massage, blood pressure screenings and BMI checks.

The National Kidney Foundation of Delaware Valley also will be available to offer information about kidney donation and kidney disease prevention. "Rare Patient Voice will provide patients and caregivers with rare diseases an opportunity to voice their opinions through surveys and interviews to improve medical products and services,'' says Forgotten Boardwalk owner Jamie Queli.

Guests can enjoy limited run “spiced up” beers, as well as brews from the usual Forgotten Boardwalk’s brews. Special event beers include: Lady #8 (Our What the Butler Saw brewed with watermelon, basil and dragon cayenne, jalapeno and habanero peppers; 1916 Shore Shiver with Szechuan peppercorns, lemongrass and Thai chili peppers; Mexican Coffee Funnel Cake; Growler’s Spicy Mole Stout; Mr. Watson White IPA, spiced with clover, as well as two new beers from the brewery's Curiosity Series, Session IPA spiced with Pomelo zest and a Berliner Weiss Sour with lemonade, cucumber, cayenne and lemon zest.

The Cow and the Curd food truck will be located in the brewery neighborhood for the event.

And visitors can also try their hand at Snookball, a game played on a giant, inflatable pool table that players walk on, using their feet and soccer balls instead of cues and pool balls.

The event runs noon to 8 p.m. at the brewery, 1940 Olney Ave, Suite 100, Cherry Hill. Call (856) 437-0709 or visit Forgottenboardwalk.com
