An evening here getting some reviews written and looking over books instead of watching garbage on television back in the hotel room. This smaller branch of the library system does have an excellent periodicals section and the wifi worked really well.
A lot of books, fiction, non-fiction, reference. A number of four-top chairs though no power outlets that I could see. There are also library workstations available for those who don't roll with their own computers.
Plenty of parking out front in this strip mall location.

I go to the regional Library and they always have a good collection of books. Librarians here are helpful and resourceful.

Lovely library - small and cozy, but high impact. All the librarians are incredibly friendly and helpful, story time feels intimate and the events they host for kids are quite excellent. Attended the balloon magic show earlier, and am still impressed to see our tax dollars put to good use...! One always hopes that a library will cater to the community it's embedded in, and Duraleigh is no exception.
Childrens' book selection is also well organized, the recommended reads frequently updated and the selection is excellent! I'm a fan :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lizzie T.Mauldin, SC046Oct 11, 2021
A decent sized library with friendly staff and a broad selection of books! They even had some manga and comics here and there. Also computers and kids section. I recommend!!

If you like books say I.
I.
This Library is small but extremely good for what it's worth.
It has wi-fi for laptop users, chairs and tables everywhere, and computers too!
Oh, and did I mention books? Tons in fact.
I like that they have a fairly big section for children and they also have reading sessions weekly for the them. They have a pick up option and drop off box for convenience.
The most convenient for me is that this is right across the street from my home, walking distance. Yay!
The size is not enough to complain. But I do wish they had longer hours. Even one hour earlier and later to close would be good for me. Saturdays they are only from 10-2 and they aren't open on Sundays!
Possibly this is a push for me to take my reading and writing elsewhere more enjoyable on a Sunday, perhaps a park or coffee shop. :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jami C.Raleigh, NC1196194Aug 29, 2019
This isn't the biggest library around but I enjoy it the most for the convenience. What I'll usually do is search for books online and then have them transferred to this location so I can quickly pick them up and use their self check out. Once in awhile if I have some time, I will browse the aisles while I'm there and pick up a gem or two. The librarians are always very helpful and kind as well.

This library needs a major redo. I utilize it for my drop off and pick up because it's conveniently located on my way to and from work. But on the weekends, I head to Leesville Library. Night and day with regard to the look, the user experience, and the staff.
The staff is getting better at this one but overall, the ones who have been here the longest are so snooty and unhelpful. I won't go into the run-in I had but I had to write the incident up, it was so unprofessional. The manager was not involved but her staff was and they are still there. I don't know how being a librarian could make you grumpy but they are grumpy at this location. At Leesville, they are always smiling at me and others. This one, they seem to have a permanent frown and frequently avoid eye contact with patrons.
Regardless, the place is so so small. They recently closed it down to do a make-over but it's still too small. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the parking. The parking is HORRIBLE. Again, the parking wouldn't be that bad but it's the handicap parking that is THE WORST. I have filled out every survey to write about this. There are A LOT OF OLD people that go to this library. I have parked next to, and have offered so many times, to help these people get their walkers out, with their books, and their purse, to walk across the parking lot, to go up one single ramp, to open the door, and then finally get into the library.
There is only ONE handicap parking spot and it is directly in front of the book drop off bins, so lots of folks use it to 'temporarily' park to drop off their books. In this section, there are only four parking spots, with the handicap spot.
The library sets within a strip mall, so on either side is a Pizza Hut and then a chinese take-out, so those spaces are reserved for those places. So the rest of the parking is in the lot, so the elderly people have to park there, with their walkers. Or even without the walkers, they are still slow walkers, or well, it's just a horrible experience for them and others.
I hate the suggestion of moving or REmoving it as it may be the closest for most of these people but it needs to be re-envisioned to suit the demographics in a more usable way. And the staff needs to REMOVED or relocated or RETRAINED to be nicer. I don't think retraining will help because it's just like faking it. I think some of those people are just unhappy and in the wrong job. I'd be HAPPY to be a librarian, surrounded by all those books...organizing them by the dewey decimal system. OMG. Heaven.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liz P.Raleigh, NC55916Oct 17, 2011First to Review
Convenient but TINY. I feel like all of the books on their shelves should just be labeled, "On hold for-". Its like a one stop pick up for online ordering and that's it. Selection of available books is lacking. Parking is even difficult during certain hours of the day just because its location is such a hole in the wall for a library. If it wasn't so close to my house I wouldn't even bother.

I honestly love this library. Yes, it's small, but it's good for taking my laptop to, and if I can't find something I want to read here, I can always request an item to be transferred here to pick up. The librians are always nice and friendly when I go in. My one request would be more plugs for laptop users.
