Suncoast Hospice Director of Spiritual Care Jim Andrews

One spiritual teacher began his day with this prayer:

“May I open my eyes in the morning with the holy name on my lips,

May I see the Divine everywhere and in everyone,

May I never hurt anyone and may I never be afraid of anyone,

May I be inspired to choose persuasive words, loving language, positive and creative thoughts,

To carry peace and goodwill throughout the world,

May my meditation deepen, so I can draw on the Source of All Life,

May I go to bed at night with the holy name on my lips

To heal my wounds and prepare me for another day of service.”

Whether we are religiously or spiritually minded or not, what a world it would be if we all recognized and honored the incredible intrinsic value in the world around us and every person we saw. If we were open and courageous in our relationships and interactions, always working towards peace and justice, grounded in and inspired by our Source to live lives of service to others. Can you picture it? Let’s do our part in bringing that vision to life today with our loved ones, with our colleagues, and with all of the people who depend on us for care.

Have a great week, everyone!
