Foundation for MetroWest Supports English Language Programs

The Foundation recently awarded English At Large a $10,000 grant to support instructional programs in Waltham.

English At Large is pleased to announce receipt of a $10,000 charitable grant from Foundation for MetroWest, one of 177 awarded to local organizations working to address the region’s most compelling needs. In 2019, more than $1.9 million in grants were awarded to support hunger-relief efforts, combat homelessness, support families and strengthen environmental and cultural endeavors throughout the region.

“This grant provides vital funding for services that impact more than 175 local adult immigrants in MetroWest each year, 50 of whom live and attend programs in Waltham”, comments EAL Board President Hicham Mouhsin. “Our One-to-One Tutoring, Conversation Groups, Career Access Lab and Beginner English Classes provide these learners with the skills, support and confidence they need to secure employment, access resources, support their families and achieve their life goals.”
