The Maui Humane Society animal shelter in Puʻunēnē is expanding its hours, and will be open seven days a week starting this Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018.

The shelter had previously been closed on Sundays, but will now be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The shelter, located off of Maui Veterans Highway (formerly Mokulele Highway) between Kahului and Kīhei, will be closed only five days a year in observance of major holidays.

With the new Sunday operations, Maui Humane Society will also reinstate its popular Super Senior Sundays program, allowing adopters to name their own price for the adoption of senior pets, ages seven and older.

“Maui Humane Society is excited to offer our services to the community seven days a week,” said Jerleen Bryant, CEO, Maui Humane Society. “Serving the island’s needs is very important to us, and the new schedule provides more opportunity for adoptions, lost and found services, and helping animals find loving homes.”

More information about Maui Humane Society is available online or by calling (808) 877-3680 ext. 3
