Work Placement Standard for Colleges
Following the publication of the Work Placement Standard for Schools, the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) has prepared the Work Placement Standard for Colleges, for a ministerial launch on the 28th September at New College Lanarkshire. As in the schools edition, there are expectations which colleges should follow with their partners in the design and implementation of work experience programmes. |

Careers Information Advice and Guidance (CIAG) reviews The first of the revised Education Scotland CIAG reviews will commence on 12th September in the Highlands. There will be teams of inspectors and Associate Assessors in Inverness, Thurso and Fort William undertaking the review of SDS guidance services in the area. |

Review of Modern Apprenticeships (MA) in Hairdressing and Automotive Engineering
The review of the MA in Hairdressing is now complete and will be published later this month. The review of the MA in Automotive Engineering has now commenced and visits will start in late September concluding in December. The report will be published in March. |
New College review arrangements The new arrangements for the review of colleges in Scotland have been prepared by inspectors in consultation with partners in the sector. In the next few months, the team if inspectors will meet with representatives from colleges and the SFC to confirm and publish the new arrangements.

Scotland’s Enterprising Schools – national leadership event
Scotland’s Enterprising Schools, with the support of Education Scotland, will host a national event for strategic leaders in education to inspire enterprising attitudes, entrepreneurship and the development of skills for learning, life and work in learners.
