Changing smartphones
As smartphone apps evolve and become more sophisticated, so do the actual smartphones. Phones evolved from huge to tiny and are now in the era of big screen yet thin body. The problem, however, is that despite accessory manufacturers’ desire for everyone to carry a smartphone on their hip, it just hasn’t remained mainstream and most users carry their phones in their purse or pocket.
For those who keep their phone in their pocket, some phones or cases are too slick and slide too easily while others have too much grip and are difficult to move inside of a pocket.
Enter the AXIO Power, a concept phone with a curved body that allows it to slide in and out of a pocket, reduces bulge, and looks to be easier to hold in a palm. Whether the AXIO makes it to market or simply influences demand remains to be unseen, but many designers are focused on making smartphones more useful not just with apps but with the physical form.

Had my iPhone in my back pocket for almost three hours during a Badgers football game last weekend and I thought of exactly this! Would be so much more comfortable if just a little bit curved. Thanks for sharing.
