Named most beautiful woman in the world by People magazine, Jennifer Lopez is one of our all-time favorite divas. But along with being a talented singer and actress, she's also proud owner of some of the sexiest legs in the business. Lately, she's been showing off her smooth, shapely stems just in time for spring and we couldn't help but take notice. Ready to bust out your leg-barring minis? Dumbell Sumo Squat

Want sexy skirt-worthy stems, too? Incorporate these three tighten and tone moves from Beverly-Hills based celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson, who makes a living helping big names—including J.Lo—get rock-hard bods.

Gunnar says: "This exercise targets your inner thighs and glutes, and is also great for working on your posture."

Do it: Grab a heavy dumbbell and hold an end with each hand at arm's length in front of your waist. Set your feet about twice your shoulder width apart, toes turned out slightly (a). Lower your body as far as you can by pushing your hips back and bending your knees (b). Pause, then push through your heels to return to the starting position. Keep your torso as upright as you can for the entire movement, with your lower back naturally arched.

Reverse Lunge to Front Kick

Gunnar says: "This move targets your hamstrings and glutes while challenging your balance. It also provides a terrific hip flexor stretch."

Do it: Stand with your feet hip-width apart and abs tight. Step back with your right foot and lower into a lunge (a). Squeeze your glutes as you push up through your left heel, kicking your right leg in front of you as you stand and straighten your left leg (b). That's one rep. Then bring your right leg back into a lunge position and do 10 to 15 continuous reps. Repeat on the other side.

Single-Leg Squat

Gunnar says: "To truly tax your glutes, think about pushing your body away from the floor as quickly as possibly to return to start. The first few times you do this exercise, hold onto a chair or other support at waist height."

Do it: Stand holding your arms straight out in front of your body at shoulder level, parallel to the floor. Raise your right leg off the floor and hold it there. Brace your core, then push your hips back and lower your body as far as you can, keeping your torso as upright as possible and raising your right leg so it doesn't touch the floor. Pause, then push through your heel to return to start. That's one rep.

Get A Smooth Shave

A close shave is the best prep before getting your glow on, according to Dr. Ellen Gendler, a dermatologist in New York City. "Shaving is a form of exfoliation—doing so before applying self tanner provides a smooth surface for an even application.

But don't pick up your man's razor: "A woman's leg hair is fine, so use a gentle shaver that's made for your body to prevent adverse effects." Try Gillette Venus ProSkin MoistureRich Razor, $10, at drugstores (Lopez is a spokesperson for the brand).

And nixing the nicks is important because skin on your legs is slower to heal than skin everywhere else, due to a difference in circulation. If you do get cut, apply pressure to the spot immediately and moisturize to speed up the healing process.

Exfoliate Your Skin

To get that signature Lopez glow, you can't skip the exfoliating step, says Tamar Verizian, founder of Gotham Glow in New York City. Just scrub down with a loofah before you apply self-tanner to remove any dull, dry skin cells.

And stay away from salt-based scrubs. "The oils in them will sit on your skin and create a barrier between you and the self-tanner." This leads to quick fading and uneven application.

Apply The Perfect Tanner

Even if you're not rushing to the red carpet like J.Lo, you still don't want a tanner that takes forever to work. One like L'Oréal Paris Sublime Bronze Clear Self-Tanning Gel ($11, at drugstores) starts bronzing you in less than an hour and is practically foolproof.

And since even the best self-tanners leave us a little icky and sticky afterwards, we swear by Verizian's quick-dry trick: "Apply a dime size amount of baby powder to the area—it works wonders." Just sweep the powder over your body with a fluffy brush. Disclaimer: You might be a bit ghostly from the powder, so it's best to try this trick at bedtime.

Use This Contouring Trick

J.Lo works hard for her shapely stems, but she's also the queen of the contour. To highlight (or – uh – fake) a bit of muscle tone when wearing a miniskirt, dust a pale pink shimmer powder down your shins in a straight line. This will draw eyes vertically and make legs look longer, says Verizian. Try Victoria's Secret Makeup Brilliant Shimmer All-over Powder in Star, $14, victoriasSecret.com
