The last two weeks have been crazy busy for us at Colossal Order and quite a few things have happened. Our producers from Paradox visited the office to discuss the future of Cities: Skylines and it's looking really good! We are excited to work on some new content for the game and this time we get to put slightly longer development time for it. Naturally this means a bit quieter time in terms of news, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

We have also started to work on a new modding tool so if you have been thinking about applying to the closed modding beta you should do it now. Just contact Paradox community developer @TheLetterZ and I'm hoping to see a bunch of modders testing and helping us to develop this new tool.

Last week I attended Nordic Game Conference. Or well more like tried to attend since most of the time I was stuck at the Arlanda airport in Sweden. They had issues with the radars and no planes were able to leave the ground before the issues were resolved. I however just made it to Malmö for the Nordic Game Awards and we won the Best Nordic Game of the Year 2015! It was such a meaningful moment for us and thanks again for all the support you have given us. We have come so far and couldn't have done it without our fabulous community, so big thanks to you all!

The great summery weather in Finland continues and I'm very much looking forward to the holidays as it has been a busy spring for us. There's still a month to go so maybe we'll get something small out for you guys before we go off the grid in July and I'll be sure to keep you updated on the developments through these small posts!

Cheers,
Mariina

I'd like to point out (and apologize) that I have yet to fully enlist any of the applicants for the Modding Beta so far (been super swamped lately!) but throw me the requests and I will get on it ASAP (which should be soon as things have calmed down!) :)

Blimps (Zeppelin) with advertises, balloons, small airports for gliders and small planes (as parks?), an option to switch off seagulls for each assets (or less seagulls) and draggable fences/hedges, please :) .
Helicopters i heard of and hope they have influence for gameplay, e.g. bigger police/hospital range

... drool...

:D

Edit: And a tool to create parallelic highways/one ways

Draggable fences are much needed in this game. :D

Helicopters would be great also. Like news, police, fire, & hospital helicopters...

I would love a mechanism that allowed you to place water sources in the map editor and then do a water erosion pass on the whole map, leaving natural looking water features. Wind erosion would be cool too.
