  1. Mumbai is having glorious weather. Sun back after 4 months of non-stop rains. All 9 major drinking water lakes and rest of dams around Mumbai are full - no water problem till next year 2012!! Greenary everywhere. Same is with Maharastra - Amboli is in shine for most extreme rain this year. If see Pradeeps metrics almost 60-70% of places are from Maharastra. This clearly indicates Maharastra and probably Gujarat and Rajasthan [new emerging places] are receiving more rains/wet weather than south India and North East India. Shift in climate pattern- which probably requires scientific research.

By the way any clue/sound for NE monsoons? Many places over TN are about 38-39degress. Rayalseema no rain. Bangalore/Mysore where in september should be raining - no rain. Kerala coffee output - decrease due to less rain - as per Business Standard News. Let us hope for good NE monsoon.

This monsoon thanks to Rajesh/Pradeep and all others for very latest information. We as Mumbai people always get forcast from here before leaving for office- With Kind of Mumbai rains - it was heavens pouring! My self will now visit Matheran to see heritage steam engine, over dense green canopy forest hills.

Can you publish any links to understand weather/weather terminologies/models? People like me need basics.

Let us conclude with some notes from classics by Lata Mangeshkar.

(1)Barsaat mein humse mile tum sajan, tumse mile hum
    Barsaat mein

    (2)o sajana, barakha bahaar aayee
ras ki phuhaar laayi, aakhiyon men pyaar laayi

    (3)Pyaar hua, ikraar hua hai
Pyaar se phir kyoon darrta hai dil)
    (Kehta hai dil rasta mushkil
    Maaloom nahin hai kahan manzil
(this iconic umberalla song was picturised in Marine Drive in 1950s when monsoon was in full swing over Mumbai!!!!)

    Thanks
