3 Ways Innovative Technology Can Help Your Business

Written by Rachel Ingram, Co-Owner  of  TechCare360

Businesses everywhere are changing the way they operate on a day-to-day basis, with the help of technological innovation. In its most advanced form, technology should be a helpful tool that provides us with endless possibilities. It should give people the freedom to work how they wa
nt to work instead of being held back by the confines of an outdated resource. The best tools allow us to be more productive, efficient, and adaptive, all while saving money.

Here are the top three ways that innovative technology can help your business:
1.            Save You Time
Communicating with your team and being organized is the key to saving time. Software options such as Teams, Planner, OneNote, Outlook and Yammer are helping companies collaborate in real-time without having to deal with creating a long chain of emails. These innovative tools are available through The Microsoft Office 365 subscription. They utilize features like instant messaging, video calls, file sharing, shared to-do lists, and detailed action plans to help teams work together efficiently to save time.
2.            Save You Money
Imagine having the cheapest computer you can buy with a robust business grade computer inside!? TechCare360 Cloud Remote Desktops give you the ability to work remotely and protects company data, all while saving on hardware costs. You never need to buy a server again and you can allow employees to bring their own devices without any security risk! This system easily meets compliance regulations including HIPAA, FIPS, FINRA, SOX, GLBA, CJIS and more.
Cloud Phone Systems are another great way to cut down overhead costs. They come in at a fraction of the cost of most office phone systems. Cloud Phone Systems utilize VoIP (voice over internet protocol) to maximize flexibility without losing any of the typical office phone system features, such as extensions, call-forwarding, voicemail, and call recording. Employees can even use their computers or smartphones as part of the office phone system.
3.            Save Your Data From Disaster
Protect your company data so you can sleep easier at night. With 6,000+ new phishing attacks every day, having a backup of your work has never been more important. A good data backup has a recovery plan in case of disaster. It should back up regularly to save your most recent work and be able to restore quickly. We also highly recommend that it is an off-site backup such as SOS Online Backup by Infrascale.
Protecting your data starts with a good data backup but should also include a good anti-virus and malware software. We strongly suggest a software called Webroot. It has an innovative protection called anomaly detection that stops threats in real time and secures devices wherever they connect. It works by looking for anomalies in all programs and files on your devices instead of relying on an existing list of "bad" programs that may be outdated, like most anti-virus software.

1. Visalia Young Professional Network is a great opportunity to get together with like minded individuals. It's a relaxed environment that makes it easy to socialize and meet other Professionals. It has given me the opportunity to learn from other business owners and professionals while educating them about my business. Great place to develop business relationships!

2. The best thing about Visalia is the sense of community. I have received so much help with our business from people in our community. There is nothing better than someone helping you just to help and expect nothing in return other than the hopes of you being successful. This community is a strong small business community that cares about Visalia and the individuals that make it unique.

3. I have had many Mentors throughout my journey as a business owner. It depends on what stage I'm at in my business and what it is I'm needing at that time. I think having a variety of mentors to reach out to is ideal.

Non-Profit Spotlight ... The American Cancer Society
We are the American Cancer Society. We have our signature fundraising event, the Relay for Life of Visalia taking place in September, and we also are creating a new and exciting social gala taking place in November. The Relay for Life is a family friendly 24-hour event taking place at the football stadium at Golden West High School. The gala will be an evening event with dinner, drinks, silent & live auctions, with entertainment. Both events raise critical funds that help fuel the mission of the American Cancer Society, an organization whose reach touches so many lives. Those who are currently battling cancer, those who may face a diagnosis in the future, and those who may avoid diagnosis altogether thanks to education, prevention, and early detection.

What are some things you are doing in our community?

Here are the 2017 Tulare County Statistics
-        491 resident cancer patients were helped with ACS information and/or free programs
-        47 cancer patients received 873 rides to lifesaving treatment by ACS Road to Recovery volunteers
-        7 cancer patients received 20 room nights via ACS Hotel Partners Program so they could be closer to treatment facilities
-        50 female cancer patients were helped with their appearance-related side effects from treatment at a Look Good Feel Better workshop
-        5 new breast cancer patients were mentored by breast cancer survivor volunteers for the Reach to the Recovery program
-        49 new wigs were given away to female cancer patients from the Visalia wig bank.
-        Currently the American Cancer Society is funding 96 research grants being conducted in the state of California totaling $48,759,000 spent on cancer research in just our state. Nationally we are funding 732 cancer research grants and contributing $390,365,888 to research.

What specific asks do you have of young professionals? Marketing? Committees/Boards? Money? Volunteer hours? This will help young professionals know if their interests, skills and abilities are aligned with what you are seeking.

We can use help in many ways. One of our goals is to fundraise so donations are welcome and involvement as a participant in our events is highly encouraged. We need assistance creating the committee for the gala and strengthening the committee for Relay. Some areas we could us help in are: registration, marketing, silent & live auction, decorating, ticket sales, marketing etc. We can also use long term volunteers leading up to the events or volunteers helping the days of the events. Please contact the American Cancer Society Staff Partner for any questions: Meg Bergevin 559-345-6188 or [email protected]
