Every year, there’s a mad scramble to get the cyclocross pros their new bikes for the season, but often that rush is split between happening before the first big races of the season (often UCI Nittany Lion Cross in Pennsylvania or StarCrossed in Seattle) and for some, just before CrossVegas.

With CrossVegas moving up a week and ahead of StarCrossed and the Rapha-Focus GP, more mechanics were scrambling inside their tents and trailers on Tuesday at the Outdoor Demo to put together their racers’ new bikes in time for the next last night’s CrossVegas race.

We witnessed Joachim Parbo slowly piecing together his German-based OCCP frameset, saw the Giant team assemble Kelli Emmett’s new TCX Advanced carbon cyclocross bike, watched Todd Wells’ Specialized Crux Expert come together, and captured Jeremy Powers’ freshly-assembled Focus Mares carbon cyclocross bike outside the Circulus, waiting for its owner and its first ride. French National Champion Caroline Mani also showed off her brand-new Felt F1X cyclocross bike, ready for its first race.
