PLEASE HELP TERRI !

To Family, Friends and all Goodhearted People:

My name is Jessie and I have started this GoFundMe for a family that has had one heartbreaking and life changing event after another.

I met my dear friend Terri years ago at an epilepsy support meeting, where I take my daughter, who lives with this condition. Every month Terri brings her own daughter, Mindy, to the meeting, always coming with a smile and heart filled with faith for the future. Mindy's seizures are daily and life threatening, but Terri always has faith in God that Mindy will be ok.

With faith, prayers and hope Mindy decided with her family to have brain surgery to try to decrease the seizures. Unfortunately, the unimaginable happened to them. Mindy had a severe stroke after the surgery for her epilepsy. For months after the stroke she had physical therapy. Then the unimaginable happened to the family again. The insurance stopped paying for Mindy to have physical therapy. Terri, dedicated mom that she is, filled with faith and never giving in to hopelessness, encouraged Mindy to continue to exercise and to work at strengthening her body and mind. Then the unimaginable happened yet again. Earlier this week, Terri thought Mindy had the flu, but she continued to get sicker and sicker and a trip to the hospital on Monday revealed that Mindy has developed acute myelogenous leukemia. Making all of this that much harder, on her way to the hospital on Monday, Terri's car broke down and the damage is not repairable.

I set up this GoFundMe for Terri, because my heart broke when I heard the despair and anguish in her voice wondering how was she going to travel from South Fork, PA, to Pittsburgh, PA, where Mindy is being treated for her leukemia. She needs a car for traveling from home to the hospital, which is a round trip of four hours. She also needs help with Mindy's medical expenses and with the cost of staying at the hospital with her. These expenses all add up very quickly.

During this hard time, Terri is also helping her elderly parents who need daily assistance with meals, reminders to take medicine, and transportation to doctor's visits. Terri never asks what anyone can do for her, she sees where others need help and without hesitation she just jumps in to give it. I have read of wonderful people helping complete strangers like my friend, Terri. I am praying that family, friends, and goodhearted strangers will help with Terri's GoFundMe and take a little of her weary, heavy load away.
