For vegans, sourcing satisfying junk food isn't always as easy as it might seem.

Meat-lovers can trek to the nearest kebab shop at 2am after a night out, but what might vegans find to tempt them at that late hour? Soggy chips, at best.

So imagine the reaction from vegans around the country when Domino's announced it would be trialing vegan pizza at selected UK stores.

In fact, there's no need to imagine - these Twitter reactions say it all:

The late-night takeaway made the announcement on social media, saying the animal product-free pizza will be available "in most major cities including London, Liverpool, Bristol, Leeds and Newcastle."

Throughout September, Domino's will be serving up a Vegan Supreme and a Vegan Margherita, complete with a vegan base and vegan cheese.

Speaking to VegNews about the decision to trial a plant-based pizza, a Domino's spokesperson said: "We want as many people as possible to enjoy the great taste of Domino's and the appetite for us to offer a vegan pizza has continued to grow.

"We're delighted to say we've developed the Vegan Supreme in response to this, which we think will hit the spot. The 'Vegandary' pizza is in trial across a few stores in September to help us get as much feedback on the product."

There was slight confusion when Domino's first made the announcement, however, as some eagle-eyed Twitter users noticed the allergen information under the Vegan Supreme listed egg as one of its ingredients.

Domino's was quick to respond, however, clarifying that "egg was incorrectly listed as an allergen". Phew!

With other pizza outlets such as Pizza Hut and Pizza Express already serving popular vegan options, we predict Domino's' latest offering to be a roaring success. Who's up for trying one?
