An experienced engineer with extensive experience in leading innovation and operations in large corporations, Anna will be tasked with guiding atNorth’s development initiatives, driving the expansion of atNorth’s existing sites, and delivering new data center campuses across the Nordics as the business continues its significant growth plans. “Anna Kristín Pálsdóttir has an established history of achievement in dynamic innovation and cross-organizational operations.” says Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson CEO at atNorth. “Her collaborative leadership style and strategic vision make her ideally suited to help us grow our data center portfolio." atNorth announces heat reuse enabled mega site in Kouvola, Finland. FIN04 will have an immediate power supply of 60 MW with the first phase, ready for operation in the second half of 2025 and a path to power to several hundred megawatts when fully built. The site will cater for both colocation customers and build-to-suit projects. FIN04 is located 139KM north-east of Helsinki and will be atNorth’s tenth data center in the Nordics and its fourth campus in Finland. Commenting on the announcement, CEO Eyjólfur Magnús Kristinsson “This agreement is yet another hallmark moment for atNorth. Kouvola is a critical location for our next site as we continue to expand and meet the growing demand for high performance services. We are in ongoing discussions with several AI companies, hyperscalers as well as international organizations requiring High Performance Computing, who see the clear benefit of moving to the Nordics to decarbonize their IT workloads. True to our vision, we are leading the way in future-proofed data center infrastructure across the Nordics.” Working closely with the city of Kouvola and energy partner, KSS Energia Oy, the new FIN04 site will be enabled with heat reuse capabilities, which will focus on recovering excess heat from the data center to be recycled through the KSS heating plant for reuse within the local community. atNorth announces expansion into Denmark with a new state-of-the-art data center. First phase will go live in Q4 2024 following a swift 12-month build. DEN01 will be our ninth data center, marking a presence in four of the five Nordic countries. Providing capacity of 30MW for high-density workloads and located on a plot with significant scalability options. DEN01 will feature best in class heat reuse technology – supplying heat to the local community and will also accommodate Direct Liquid Cooling technology to support HPC and AI workloads in an energy efficient way.
