It’s not everyday that you have a colleague come into your office and say “Did you see me on TV last night?” Yet here we found ourselves, a few days ago, greeted happily by A.J Perez with that very question! A.J. is a member here at Brickyard Ashburn and is a Senior Reporter for Front Office Sports, focusing on investigative stories and Q&As with newsmakers in the sports world. He has been a journalist for more than twenty years, working at USA TODAY, Fox Sports, CBS Sports among others.
Based in New York, Front Office Sports (FOS) covers the world of sports business. They have four newsletters, including their widely circulated PM and AM FOS newsletters.
A.J. ‘s extensive experience in sport journalism made him a perfect candidate to be interviewed by several local news stations given the recent rumblings that Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, might just be interested in purchasing The Washington Football Team. A.J. joined our space about eight months ago because he was looking for an office to work from near his second office. Along with working as a journalist, he’s also an expert personal trainer and has been for about seven years. Currently, A.J. is working with Foundation Fitness right downstairs from Brickyard. Brickyard conveniently allows him to transition between writing and training. Naturally, when we asked A.J. what he liked most about Brickyard, his response was “the convenience, friendly atmosphere and free coffee.”
A lesser-known fact about A.J. is that he grew up in Gilroy, California, which is known as the Garlic Capital of the World. He may be far from his hometown, but he is making an impression on sports fans nationwide!
