KINGSTON, N.Y. >> Catholic Charities recently hosted an “Immigration Information Session and Legal Clinic” at its Kingston location.

More than 100 immigrants received free legal consultation, as well as access to services and resources for families.

The day’s events also included a “Know Your Rights” training program to help immigrants understand what they can and should do if they are contacted by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

Legal assistance was provided by 12 attorneys who specialize in immigration law; and more than 30 bilingual volunteers provided translation assistance and moral support while they gathered background information from the clinic attendees.

Catholic Charities will host the next Immigration Legal Services Clinic on Sept. 29 in Brewster. To schedule an appointment for that clinic, call (347) 921-0631 or email cccscommclinics@gmail.com.
