Brevard County Fire Rescue Helps Iwo Jima Veteran Repair Flagpole To Fly Colors, Marine Flag

A resident of Barefoot Bay and former U.S. Marine that served in Iwo Jima had a flagpole in need of replacement. On Sunday, the crew of Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 86-B, including Lt. Hill, Fm A. Koehn, FF Bauer, Fm Hatch and FF Pisciottano assisted with putting the flagpole back in service and allowing the retired marine to fly is colors again. (BCFR image)

BREVARD COUNTY • BAREFOOT BAY, FLORIDA – A resident of Barefoot Bay and former U.S. Marine that served in Iwo Jima had a flagpole in need of replacement.

One of his neighbors came by Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 86-B and asked if the guys would come help if he purchased the material.

He related that this retired Marine would fly the Colors and his Marine Flag proudly every day, but since the top had rusted off the pole, he was unable to fly his flags.

On Sunday, the crew of Brevard County Fire Rescue Station 86-B, including Lt. Hill, Fm A. Koehn, FF Bauer, Fm Hatch and FF Pisciottano assisted with putting the flagpole back in service and allowing the retired marine to fly is colors again.
