Joe Martore, CEO and a board member at Calibre Systems, has been named chairman of the company’s board of directors.

He will succeed James Terry Scott, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who served as chairman since 2017, the company said Thursday.

Martore’s “extensive experience will provide an immeasurable asset to the company as it moves forward in this dynamic world of digital transformation and change management,” said Joseph Reynolds, vice chairman of the board at Calibre.

Martore co-founded and served as president and CEO of Strategic Management Initiatives, which Calibre acquired in 2004. He held senior leadership roles at Management Strategies and Tenera and previously worked at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

He serves on the board of the Professional Services Council, Easter Seals DC MD VA and the Laurel Grove School Museum Association. He is a member of the dean’s advisory council at George Mason University School of Business and of the external advisory board of the MIT Institute for Data, Systems and Society.

Alexandria, Va.-based Calibre is an employee-owned company delivering management consulting and digital transformation support services to government agencies and industry clients.
