PANAJI: The Met department has predicted that pre-monsoon showers are likely to continue for the next couple of days with possibilities of light rain or thunder showers for the next 24 hours.
The upper air circulation has shifted between Lakshadweep islands to south Konkan and Goa. But the implications of the shift are the same. "The forecast continues and there will be isolated rain or thunder showers," K V Singh, director Met department, said.

Heavy pre-monsoon showers lashed the state on Sunday evening. Though there were reports of heavy showers accompanied by lightning and thunder in the western ghat areas, the highest rainfall was recorded in Mormugao (69.7mm) in coastal areas.
The Met department recorded rainfall of 58.2mm in Pernem, 40.8mm in Margao, 24.8mm in Dabolim, 17.2mm in Quepem, 14.8mm in Canacona, 12.8mm in Panaji, 10.8mm in Sanguem, 5.0mm in Mapusa, .2mm in Ponda, while in Valpoi, it was less than .1mm.
The minimum temperature was 23.3° C on Monday morning while the maximum temperature recorded was 33.7° C. Relative humidity was 61%.
