An owner has splashed out £20,000 on the UK's most expensive dog wedding.

Louise Harris invested in special dog food for her Chihuahua, Lola's big day, buying a dog-friendly chocolate fountain and cupcakes, reports the Daily Mail.

The wedding was held in Bradwell-on-Sea, Essex and the venue cost £2,500.

Lola wore a dress created by Michele Ochs, who designed the outfits worn on hit movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It cost £1,000.

Ms Harris, who runs Diva Dogs in Essex, ran an online competition to find Lola her perfect 'husband'.

The pooch's favourite was Mugly, a Chinese Crested dog owned by Bev Nicholson, a mother of four.

Ms Harris told the news provider: "I wanted Lola to have the perfect day.

"It was meant to only be a relatively small affair with 30 guests but the list just kept getting bigger and bigger because I didn't want to leave anyone out! Just like most weddings I guess!"

Ms Harris runs Diva Dogs with her mother Janet Sapiano who were inspired to set up the business by Lola.
