There's nothing quite like climbing under the covers to go to bed — except when your bed is actually cold, too. If you're the type to wear wool socks to bed or rely on your dog in bed for warmth, listen up: The people at Sleep Number created a mattress that heats just the foot of the bed so your toes are comfy cozy. It warms up around the time you usually go to bed (it also tracks your sleep habits with an app), and will shut off after you're asleep. It even claims this foot-warmer will make you fall asleep faster.

This video explains all the Sleep Number 360 features (warning: this video contains footage that will make you want to climb back in bed):

In the video and press release, they mention that some people fall asleep faster when their feet are warm, and there's actually some research that proves this. According to sleep.org, studies show that heating your cold feet causes the blood vessels to dilate, which signals to your brain that it's time to sleep. When the blood vessels in your hands and feet dilate, the rest of your body gets warmer and preps you to snooze, nice and comfy. This isn't necessarily brand new knowledge, because people have been sleeping with hot water bottles at the end of their bed for this reason for centuries.

Unfortunately, the Sleep Number 360 isn't available yet, but they say it'll online and in stores by the beginning of 2017. They also haven't mentioned the cost, but it'll be priced similar to other mattresses, which are in the $1,000 to $5,000 range. Can't justify shelling out that much just for a heated mattress? They also make a mattress topper that lets you adjust the temperature on both sides of the bed (though it starts at a cool $999).

That being said, there are some other cool features of the Sleep Number 360 that make it worth the investment. It adjusts to your sleep position throughout the night, can sense when your partner is snoring (and will raise the snorer's head to fix it), and will wake you up when you're in the lightest stage of sleep. The thought of a night with toasty feet and no snoring? Sounds priceless to us.
