Marshals pick up N.J. felon on Buck Street

MILLVILLE - A paroled bank robber is behind bars again for moving but not registering his new address with New Jersey judicial officials, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

A federal fugitive task force out of Atlantic City picked up 47-year-old Joseph Whilden on the 900 block of Buck Street on Thursday morning, according to Supervisory Inspector Dennis O’Brien.

O’Brien said Whilden was on parole with a condition that he be supervised for three years after his release.

Whilden was in a state prison for robbing a Colonial Bank office in Vineland on May 12, 2009. He was arrested the same month.

According to the New Jersey Department of Corrections, Whilden was sentenced in April 2010 to a maximum term of eight years in prison. He was required to serve six years, nine months, and 16 days to become eligible for parole. He was released Feb. 29.
