UPTOWN  — After more than a year on the market, the Myron Bachman house sold for more than $400,000 this month, according to Curbed Chicago, who first reported the news Thursday.

The home at 1244 W. Carmen Ave. was put on the market in August 2014 for $599,000. On April 8, it sold for $408,000, Curbed reports.

In 1947, architect Bruce Goff remodeled the original two-story wood house into a family residence and recording studio using corrugated aluminum sheeting. Goff didn't intend for the house to be futuristic, but instead his buildings were designed for "the continuous present," according to the Chicago Reader.

Goff built the home for recording engineer Myron Bachman. It was originally built in 1889 and was designated a Chicago Landmark on Dec. 9, 1992.

The 2,400 square foot building comes with 2.5 bathrooms and a full unfinished basement. The lot, which includes a 1-car garage is 6,000 square feet, according to the Cook County Assessor's Office.

You can take a digital tour of the interior of the house here.
