FOREST GROVE, Ore. — For the second month in a row, baseball star Walker Olis and softball standout Rachel Roberts have been named the Boxer Club Student-Athletes of the Month, this time for April.

For the senior outfielder Olis, it marks the third time that he has been selected by the Boxer Club Board members. It is the second selection for the senior second baseman Roberts.

And while there were plenty of worthy candidates in the month of April, Olis and Roberts were too tough to vote against.

Olis finished a one-of-a-kind career with a solid month of April. He was named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year, the first time that a Boxer has been selected for that award since 2002. He hit .407 in the month of April and scored 19 runs in 16 games, had four doubles, five home runs, 17 RBI, 16 walks and eight stolen bases. The Burlington, Wash. native and four-year all-conference standout set Pacific single-season school records in stolen bases (28), runs (57) and walks (44). He finished the season with a .415 batting average, 12 doubles and 11 home runs. He is a very strong candidate for all-region and all-american honors.

Roberts finished a storied career with a typically big month of April. She hit .491, scored 18 runs in 16 games, had three doubles, four home runs, 13 RBI and 11 stolen bases. For the season, she batted .455 (second in the conference), had 36 stolen bases, 42 runs, 11 doubles and six home runs. She led the NWC in runs scored and had 15 more stolen bases than the next player on the list. She was named the Northwest Conference Player of the Year for the second time in her career (also in 2014). The Oregon City native was a four-time All-NWC pick.

The Boxer Club is an organization formed to support the student-athletes and mission of the Pacific University Athletic Department. Boxer club members have an active support in supporting student-athlete successes.

The membership base includes alumni, friends, faculty, staff and friends of the University's athletic program.
