RAPAPORT... The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is expecting a turnout at its New York jewelry career fair in July “similar” to last year, when 48 companies attended the key recruitment event.

“Dozens” of gem and jewelry companies will be looking to hire at every career stage, the GIA said. The exhibition will take place at the Javits Center on July 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 600 job seekers attended last year.

The event, free and open to the public, will also include one-on-one career coaching with people from the industry and a panel on success in the job market chaired by Susan Jacques, president and chief executive officer of the GIA.
