Newmarket-on-Fergus was the first show of the summer season. While the summer weather hadn't yet arrived, there was a strong display of top quality cattle in attendance which drew a large crowd to the ringside for the day.

Commercial

In the commercial ring January born bull calf took the eye of judge John Lynch, Kilmalock, Co Limerick, too take the top spot of commercial champion he is by LGL and a CF52 Cow is owned by Billy Gubbins, Kilfinane, Co Limerick.

Reserve champion went to a January born heifer calf sired by Limousin bull TVR and A Belgian blue cow, she was exhibited by Shane Giltinane, Croagh, Co Limerick.

Limousin

Limousin Classes were judged by Martin Ryan, Thurles, Co Tipperary. Champion Limousin went to First time exhibitor at Newmarket-on-Fergus show, Owen Hester, Castlerea, Co Roscommon with Meelickaduff Honda & her January Born Bull Calf at foot Meelickaduff Lamborghini a Sympa son.

Taking Reserve champion was Roundhill Iondine owned by Bobby O’Connell, Clarina, Co Limerick. Iondine is an Elite Forever Brill Daughter.

Charolais

Charolais were judged by Martin Ryan Thurles, Co Tipperary. Taking champion was Rory Quinn with his September born bull calf sired by Pirate and a Hermes cow.

Reserve Champion went to Bobby O’Connell Clarina, Co Limerick. With his two month old bull calf by FYB and out of Ballybrown Clara.

Young Handlers

In the young handler class Judges Martin Ryan & John Lynch had a tough task with many experienced young handlers taking to the ring coming out on top were

1st Shane Hynes Athlone, Co Westmeath.

2nd Eoghan McInerney, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare.

3rd Daniel Moloney, Ardnacrusha, Co Clare.

4th Aiden Kinihan, Kilfinane, Co Limerick.

Interbreed Pairs

There was a large entry in the interbreed pairs class which was dominated by Limousin pairs; 1st Rachel & Daniel Moloney, Ardnacrusha, Co Clare; second Jean & Eoghan McInerney, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare, third Donal Moloney, Ardnacrusha, Co Clare.
