Premature birth affects about 380,000 babies here in the United States. We’re walking in March for Babies to help fund reaearch and treatment protocols that help these little ones.
I have two reasons for participating in the worthwhile cause. My son Jack is 9 years old and my daughter Katie is 5 years old. I had bleeding early in the pregnancy with my daughter. It was very scary at the time and I was on bedrest. Uncertain what the future would hold. Luckily the bleeding stabilized and I was able to go on and have a pretty normal healthy pregnancy from there on out. I also suffer the loss of a third pregnancy at 13 weeks. So, I definitely sympathize with others who have had early losses and know how devastating it can be. As a Labor and Delivery nurse for the last 14 years, I have seen so my patients through challenges and successes during their pregnancies. It has been rewarding to say the least, to build a bond like no other with the family. I also get to see the wonderful therapies and treatment guidelines, the March of Dimes has spearheaded, at work. Day in and day out. They are literally helping these tiny babies breathe easier!! Their work and research has paid off and it continues to grow and evolve. They do such an amazing job!
Please make a secure donation to help us reach our goal. Together we can help the March of Dimes fight prematurity so more babies can get the strongest start possible. These little ones depend on us! Thank you in advance for playing a part in helping these moms and babies!
With preterm birth rates continuing to rise, the U.S. remains among the most dangerous developed nations for childbirth, especially for women and babies of color.
At March for Babies: A Mother of a Movement™ you're lifting up communities, creating connections and taking action to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy.
Together, we’re marching to raise funds and awareness to transform the health of all families!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
