Hello, creatives!

Someone said to me this week, "How many things do you do?" Is it possible I have my fingers in too many projects? Nah! I love interacting with so many different organizations and people over the course of my weeks. It's energizing to see all the amazing work happening right here in the Charleston community.

I'm excited for all the terrific events coming up in May. Plus, I get double the celebration with my birthday, followed up by Mother's Day. So, let's hear it for the month of May! :)

Let's be creative,
Holly

Join with donors all around the Charleston region for Lowcountry Giving Day on May 3. Close to 400 nonprofits are signed up online and ready to receive your donations - big and small. Plus, many of them have dollar-for-dollar matches so you can feel extra good about your donation. Consider supporting these H.A.F. Creative clients: Charleston Parks Conservancy, Lowcountry AIDS Services, The ARK of SC and The Footlight Players.

This week I was at Colonial Lake in downtown Charleston to coordinate an interview about the park's $5 million renovation. The Charleston Parks Conservancy has started adding plants and trees to the park and it is stunning! Save the date for the grand opening celebration on June 4.

It's not too late to snag your tickets to the Charleston Beer Garden on May 14. All proceeds benefit Lowcountry AIDS Services. Enjoy a variety of beers, games, food, music and more!

Celebrate those who have contributed to Charleston's arts and culture life at the inaugural Anthony Aston Honors established by The Footlight Players. The Gala celebration is May 17. Fun fact: In 1703, Aston wrote and performed “The Country,” thought to be the first play ever produced in America.

For the April issue of Lowcountry Parent, I explored the topic of team sports and how parents choose between recreational leagues and travel teams. Check it out online.

A few years back, I had the honor of working on the printed program for the very first DIG SOUTH tech conference here in Charleston. So it was a treat to re-connect with founder Stanfield Gray for a profile in the May/June issue of Charleston Living. Pick up a copy around town or read online.

H.A.F. Creative - Around Town

An issue critically important to me is postpartum depression awareness. So my family and I are always at the annual Moms' Run + Family Fun Day benefiting Postpartum Support Charleston. This 5K run/walk is coming up May 7. It's fun family event but also shines a light on postpartum depression/anxiety, letting moms know they are not alone and that help is available. Register today or, if you can't attend in person, make a donation!

I'll be back in the classroom on May 19 teaching "Content, Blogs and Catchy Titles" as part of the Digital Marketing and Social Media Workshop at the College of Charleston.
