According to UFC press release there is going to be a special Flyweight attraction battle with Canada’s own Valerie Letourneau taking on Scottish standout Joanne Calderwood at TD Place Arena in Ottawa.

The fight is the first time in history of the UFC that they will be testing the waters of the 125lbs division, but according to the company there are no plans to open the division just yet.

This may turn into something in the near future if the fight turns some heads with the UFC and fans alike and of course advertisers plus sponsors.

In other news, there are still no plans to rank the fighters in the Flyweight division which looks they will have to rely on us media WMMA World Rankings and Scorecardmma.com which also ranks wmma fighters and does the P4P women’s rankings.

Both fighters have not fought since late last year and are looking forward to fighting for the first time in 2016. While Valerie is coming off a loss to the current Strawweight Champion Joanna MMA she wants to getting back to the win column and still undefeated in the country of Canada, she is looking to keep it that way.

Joanne who is coming off a win against Cortney Casey back in July of last year is one of the fighters that also won against Seo Hee Ham at TUF 20 finale going 2-1 in the UFC since 2014. She will be heading to foreign territory, Valerie is undefeated in her home country of Canada but Joanne is looking to make that upset especially being the underdog in some of her fights in the past proving people wrong that she is a legit all around fighter.

Good luck to both fighters on their upcoming fight camps and fight.
