Stephen roars

The real season begins now. The top eight teams from both conferences have been decided, and the entire basketball world is in for another thrilling finish in the 2016 NBA Playoffs.  And if it’s still not obvious, the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs are the hands-down favorites to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

Wait a minute, though. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t too far behind from snatching the championship. Both should be able to make this title race a little more exciting and unpredictable.

That being said, let’s take a closer look at these four teams, and how sportsbooks currently view their chances of winning it all. Just continue reading on below. Golden State Warriors

There you have it, folks. The Golden State Warriors made history this season by notching win No. 73. No other NBA team has ever reached that mark, and it’ll probably be a long while before anyone breaks it.  But now, the defending champions are only focused on their true goal of winning another Larry O’Brien Trophy.  And the chances of that are looking real good with Stephen Curry and co. playing their best basketball right. Golden State is priced at -180 to win back-to-back titles.

San Antonio Spurs

All season long, the San Antonio Spurs (+250) have been lurking right behind the shadows of the defending champions. That remains to be the case up to now, as Gregg Popovich and his boys finished with the second-best record in the league, 67-15.

A reason for concern though, is the fact that the Spurs capped of the season as losers of three of their past four games. They seemed to have lost a bit of their edge and defensive tenacity, but nonetheless, this team has the talent, depth and experience to pose as the most challenging foe for the Warriors.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Over at the East, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (+400) managed to stay on top of the mountain.  This year, the Cavs are going to even harder to beat with a healthy Kyrie Irving running alongside Kevin Love and James, who’s bound to be even hungrier to avenge last year’s loss in the Finals.  Will this be the year for the King and his men?

Oklahoma City Thunder

Going back to the West, there’s another team that has a legitimate shot of winning the title—the Oklahoma City Thunder (+1,000). Well, there’s no surprise here because Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have been going on a rampage throughout the entire regular season. The two All-Stars are averaging 51.7 points combined. That’s the second-highest among all the other scoring duos in the league.
