The road nears its end

The winner at Arkansas Derby will score 100 points, which could be enough to juggle the standings. Cupid, 11th in points, is entered.

Keeneland’s Lexington offers 10 to the winner.

The top 20 in points can run in the Kentucky Derby. The first jewel of the Triple Crown, takes place the first Saturday in May.

Gun Runner tops the standings. Nyquist, probably more well-known, is second, but is far ahead in nonrestricted stakes earnings with more than $3 million.

The bottom of the standings could face a shakeup after Saturday’s races.
