OPI Turns to Texas for Nail Color Collection

OPI has announced its latest collection of nail color will be the Texas Collection. It's as if the nail polish makers know all eyes are going to be on Texas for the Super Bowl.

The company known for catchy nail polish names has incorporated Texas sayings, stereotypes and city names in the latest collection.

Sorry, Dallas, you don't get a polish named after you, but Fort Worth, you're in!

The colors for "urban cowgirls and city slickers" will be:

  • I Vant to Be A-Lone Star
  • It's Totally Fort Worth It
  • Austin-tatious Turquoise
  • Don't Mess with OPI
  • San Tan-tonio
  • Suzi Loves Cowboys
  • Y'all Come Back Ya Hear?
  • Big Hair...Big Nails
  • Guy Meets Gal-veston
  • Too Hot Pink to Hold 'Em
  • Do You Think I'm Tex-y
  • Houston We Have a Purple

Looking at the OPI poster, the Fort Worth color appears to be a very sheer light purple. A little more purple, and it could have been seen as a shout out to 2001 Rose Bowl Champions, the TCU Horned Frogs.

The last three nail color collections from OPI have been named for Spain, Hong Kong and Switzerland, but the company decided to "come home to the USA" for the latest lacquers.

The nail colors hit stores on Feb. 2, four days before Super Bowl XLV.
