PORT ORANGE — A Krispy Krunchy Chicken restaurant is set to open Wednesday, 11 a.m., at The Pavilion at Port Orange along Williamson Boulevard, west of Interstate 95.

The eatery, which will employ 11 workers, will be the first Volusia County location for the Louisiana-based chain and one of its first restaurants. The chain has approximately 2,000 locations across the country, including two in Flagler County, but most are inside gas station convenience stores or other businesses, such as the ones inside the State Street Diner in Bunnell and inside the Country Store also in Bunnell.

The Port Orange location is in the building at The Pavilion that includes Red Robin. The franchise owner is Dennis Payton, who previously was a Realtor in the Daytona Beach area.

Krispy Krunchy Chicken's menu includes Cajun-style fried chicken, Buffalo chicken wings, Cajun-style seafood as well as breakfast items.
