Patriots' Danny Amendola set to sign with Dolphins, per report

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola (80) warms up before the AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium.

Tom Brady is losing one of his favorite targets to a division rival.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, NFL Network's Dan Hellie reports.

Amendola, 32, was one of the heroes of the New England Patriots' run to Super Bowl LII last season, recording 26 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns in three postseason games. He was third on the team with 61 catches for 659 receiving yards and two touchdowns, emerging as a trusted short-area option for Brady after Julian Edelman was lost for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The loss was one of several on Tuesday for New England, as cornerback Malcolm Butler and running back Dion Lewis reached deals to join the Tennessee Titans. Offensive tackle Nate Solder also could earn significant interest.

Amendola will be the latest addition to a Dolphins receiving core undergoing changes after Jarvis Landry was traded to the Cleveland Browns. Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Albert Wilson also agreed to a three-year deal with the team, and Miami returns DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills.
