EPA P3 Student Competition: Cement from Trash is Fair, Low-Cost, and Low-CO2

This group of Drexel University students were the recipients of the 2008 EPA P3 Award and received $10,000 to fund their project, "Alkali-Activated Slag Cements as a Sustainable Building Material." They returned to the 2011 EPA P3 Student competition to discuss how alkali-activated slag cements can reduce the carbon footprint and act as a sustainable building material that ensures long term performance and durability in a service environment.

This project was one of more than 55 others featured at the EPA's annual P3 competition in Washington, D.C. Check out the video in the panel to the right to learn more.
